Almost done! #SketchbookProject
I am finishing my sketchbook today! YEAH!
I began The Sketchbook Project this summer, documenting some of the plants I was growing. And then I attended one of the touring exhibits of the Sketchbook Library at Mass Collective in Atlanta. It is a part of the larger Brooklyn Art Library in New York.
I will be shipping my book off next week, along with my daughter Casey’s sketchbook. She is a performing arts major at SCAD in Savannah, who enjoys all her creative sides. Her Flickr page shows her love for the camera.
One of the sketchbooks I really enjoyed was that of Italian Illustrator – Paola Zanetti.
I recently reached out to her on Flickr because I wanted to include her name in MY sketchbook. I wanted people who enjoyed my book to enjoy her book also. I love this whole social media thing.
I hope that if the exhibit comes to your city, that you will go spend a lovely restful afternoon flipping through many many little sketchbooks and seeing all of the amazing talent that exists, and the process by which artists (and others) communicate. It is a window into their souls. And it is their gift to the world. You can view many sketchbooks online, but it’s SO much better to hold them in your hand.
Thanks to The Brooklyn Art Library and Art House Co-op for making The Sketchbook Project a success. A truly worthwhile effort.

Big ups to you Terry B! So cool that you took the sketchbook challenge. Is the exhibit coming to Savannah?
ps-I love this social media thing too
Thanks, Edwina. Here is the tour schedule for 2013. http://www.sketchbookproject.com/projects/sketchbookproject/tour/15
